Ricard Larsson — BLACK METAL
For Ricard Larsson’s BLACK METAL, Dingsda Design developed a visual identity and catalogue concept that places the artwork at the centre. The design follows the reduced and powerful character of Larsson’s paintings: a monochrome language, generous white space and a precise typographic system create a framework that allows the works to unfold without visual distrxaction.

Approach
The catalogue was designed as a quiet but expressive object — balancing the physicality of the paintings with a clear editorial structure.
Typography, image placement and material choices were carefully developed to create tension between raw artistic expression and refined presentation. The layout gives each work room to breathe while building a consistent visual rhythm throughout the publication.
Outcome
The result is an exhibition catalogue that functions not only as documentation, but as an independent design object.
A restrained editorial system supports the intensity of Larsson’s work and translates the atmosphere of the exhibition into a lasting printed experience.
